Project S2733

Project S2733 is a grassroots effort to pass legislation in Trenton which would mandate use of E-Verify by employers in the State of New Jersey and make sure that the people they hire are either US citizens or legal residents.

E-Verify is a database maintained by the United States federal government consisting of names, ages, and social security numbers. Use of the system is free. Senators Steven Oroho (R-24), Jeff Van Drew (D-1), Joseph Pennacchio (R-26), and Michael Doherty (R-23) have sponsored Senate Bill S2733.  This bill would mandate the use of E-Verify by New Jersey employers and would protect American workers from unfair competition from illegal immigrants.

The bill was referred to the Senate Labor Committee where it has languished ever since. Senate Labor Committee Chairman Fred Madden and Senate President Steven Sweeney have the power to post the bill and start the legislative process rolling to sign the bill into law.

We need to put pressure on Senate Pres. Sweeney and  Senator Fred Madden to post Senate Bill S2733 to protect American workers.

If you agree that jobs in New Jersey should go only to people who are in the United States legally, then sign the petitions below. There are petitions to Senate President Sweeney and to Senator Madded
